ONCE AGAIN, Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport in the US remains the world’s busiest airport, with passenger traffic of 52.64 million in the first six months of 2018.
The other two world’s busiest airports in the US are Los Angeles International Airport and O’Hare International Airport, at number four and number six respectively while more than half of the world’s top 10 busiest airports are in Asia.
The list, compiled by Shanghai-based Civil Aviation Data Analysis, a civil aviation data platform, ranks airports in terms of passenger traffic as of the end of June 2018.
Beijing Capital International Airport remained the world’s second busiest airport by passenger traffic, witnessing 49.38 million passengers in the first half of the year.
Dubai International Airport in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) also retained its world’s third busiest airport by passenger traffic, having received 43.74 million passengers in the first half of the year.
Indira Gandhi International Airport in India, on the other hand, is the only airport on the list with the fastest growth of passengers with an increase of 13.41 percent during the same period.
