DOCKSIDE AT DARLING HARBOUR, Sydney, is about to welcome an influx of curious travelers, as well as tourism and travel industry leaders when the 2018 Travel Industry Exhibition kicks off next week.
And with exhibitor space officially sold out, the expo is slated to be the biggest floor-show, with over 55 new and unique suppliers who are ready to transport you and give you a taste of what you can expect with live cooking demonstrations, musical representation, and more.
According to organizer Exhibitions & Trade Fair event director David Paterson, the exhibition will include “exhibitors specializing in products across the board for the Mobile, MICE and the Luxury sectors, which have each shown strong recent growth.”
“This year we also have a larger floor space, so with this broadest range ever, the floor is representing what the MICE and Luxury sectors are looking for. We’re delighted to have an offering that faithfully matches that need.”
Visitors can expect to see many well-known exhibitors such as Scenic Luxury Cruises & Tours, AYANA Resort & Spa, and CINZ (Conventions & Incentives New Zealand); as well as those that are new to the market including Timor Leste Tourism, Submarine Downunder, and Shandong Tourism.
“Both well-known and new entrants will be exhibiting offerings that are fresh, innovative and aligning early with trends.”
The newcomers
Timor-Leste Tourism offers the opportunity to visit Asia’s newest country, an unspoiled gem.
The beautiful new tourism offers a unique cultural experience, rich history, ancient traditions, natural beauty in beaches that are ringed by tropical coral reefs teeming with marine life, and rugged mountains.
Largely untouched and still under the tourists’ radar for now, Timor-Leste offers some of the world’s last great off-the-beaten-track adventures.

Submarine Downunder, on the other hand, offers the first-of-a-kind-underwater tours.
Run off the shores of the Sunshine Coast, this top-level tourist attraction lets passengers “experience Australia from a different perspective”, giving a unique view of the endangered underwater world that would only otherwise be accessible through scuba diving.

Then there’s Shandong Tourism from China, which is trying to break through into the market as an alternative to Beijing and Shanghai.
Situated in East China, Shandong is a coastal province on the Yellow Sea that forms nearly 20 percent of China’s total coastline. It was home to the ancient state of Qi and one of China’s most sacred peaks featuring shrines, stone tablets, and pilgrimage trails.
Shandong is also the birthplace of Confucius and has numerous historic and sacred sites, as well as distinguished beer factories and wineries.
Established names
While AYANA Resort & Spa’s existing world-class resort on 222 acres of cliff-top land perched above Jimbaran Bay is well-known, in September it will be launching a brand-new resort: the first and only five-star resort at Labuan Bajo.
“Already famed in Bali and Jakarta for world-class hospitality, exceptional hotel design and unparalleled service standards, AYANA Komodo Resort, on white-sand Waecicu Beach, will have 205 guest rooms featuring superb sunset views overlooking Kukusan Island,” Paterson said.

Meanwhile, in the MICE sector, CINZ’s role is to increase New Zealand activity, including from Australia.
“New Zealand is a dream destination for business travel and pleasure. It has thrilling adventures, cultural experiences, complete relaxation and luxurious rewards.”
There’s also Scenic Luxury Cruises & Tours, an eminent established brand is well-known and trusted.
From its humble beginnings to now world-renowned luxury cruise and tour operator, Scenic Luxury Cruises & Tours celebrated 30 years as a leader in its field just two years ago.
Its world-class reputation for creating and delivering the ultimate cruising and touring itineraries for travelers who seek wondrous experiences and exceptional five-star service is well deserved.
The 2018 Travel Industry Exhibition will host seminar sessions that will explore many topics, including the importance of food, trends in accommodation and how to use networking properly, while a special panel discussion will delve into ethical and responsible tourism.
