AUSTRALIA is known for having some of the best beaches in the world, including Bondi Beach, Whitsunday Islands, Nudey Beach, and Quobba – Red Bluff Beach.
Swimming holes vary from freshwater lakes and disused quarries and dams to shallow rock-pool style ocean inlets.
Some are surrounded by dense forest and incredible wildlife while others border hundreds of miles of arid desert.
Here’s a selection of Western Australia’s best swimming holes.
Serpentine Falls
Just a one-hour drive south of Perth city center is one of nature’s best slip and slides. The 50-meter-high granite waterfall makes for a great slide into the water below.
Some daredevils have also been known to jump off the top of the surrounding cliffs but if you’re caught doing so by a ranger, you can expect a stern telling off.

The Basin
Located on Rottnest Island just off the coast of Perth is The Basin.

Zebedee Springs
Located amongst 700,000 acres of lush forest is Zebedee Springs in El Questro, Kimberly, right at the very top of Western Australia.
